A tentative contract agreement has been reached between the San Diego Symphony and locked-out musicians, sources told The Times. The accord, which has been agreed upon orally but not in writing, calls for a 2 1/2-year contract, including summer and winter seasons, and would begin with a pops season this summer. Specific terms of the agreements--such as budget figures, salaries and the number of contracted weeks--were unknown. If a contract is signed, it will end months of discord between the orchestra and the musicians, which culminated in January with the disbanding of the symphony. On-again, off-again negotiations have been held since June.
