Procter & Gamble reported a 13% increase in third-quarter net earnings, to $188 million. Revenue totaled $4.2 billion, a 3% increase over 1986. The growth in net earnings was affected adversely by a higher effective tax rate because of the elimination of investment tax credits as a result of the Tax Reform Act of 1986, the company said.
