Low-Income People More Religious, Study Finds

OSLO — A Norwegian researcher says the more people earn, the less religious they are, and that low-income, more religious people are the most satisfied with their financial situation.
Sociologist Trude Nergaard noted those factors in a report of recent studies, “Religiosity in Norway.” She said twice as many low-income people see themselves as religious than those of high income.
Also, she said, twice as many of the most religious consider themselves happy as do those in the higher-income, less religious group.
