Joys of Britain

Thanks for the Los Angeles Times Sunday Travel section and Jerry Hulse! Having saved the Travel section for nearly two years, the storehouse of B&Bs; and places of interest was the latchkey to the success of our recent trip to England.
They said it would be rainy; it wasn’t. They said the English food wasn’t that great; the food was marvelous! They said that if we didn’t take a tour bus, we wouldn’t be able to see over the hedgerows; we drove 1,700 miles and the countryside visibility was more than adequate. Even the very worst B&B; wasn’t that bad, and the good ones were wonderful. So many nice people, so many nice places.
England is a marvelous place to visit. One thing stood out that means so much to senior citizens: public restrooms (the “loo”) were everywhere and easy to locate.
