Prep Roundup : El Dorado’s Glade Wins His Third Doubles Title

Eric Glade of El Dorado High School won his third consecutive Empire League tennis doubles title when he and teammate Neil Johnson defeated Eddie Bowen and James Mason of Esperanza, 6-1, 6-1, Wednesday at the Old Ranch Tennis Club in Los Alamitos.
Glade, the most valuable player on the basketball team, and Jim Sammon, who was a senior last season, won the same title the two previous seasons.
Kit Codik of league-champion Los Alamitos won the singles title. He defeated Chris Flood of Esperanza, 6-2, 6-4. Codik was part of the doubles team that lost to Glade and Sammon in the final last season.
In the South Coast League tennis finals:
Ryan Gately of Dana Hills defeated teammate Gavin Fenske, 6-1, 6-4 in singles and Neel Grover and Stan Sanders of Dana Hills defeated Jemille Atcha and Blake Denison of Capistrano Valley, 6-0, 6-3, in the doubles final.
