Mission Viejo’s Boys Win Swim Title, but Girls’ Streak Ends

The Mission Viejo High School boys’ swimming team easily won its 13th straight Southern Section 4-A title Friday night at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach, but the Mission Viejo girls’ team had its 11-year winning streak snapped by Capistrano Valley.
Led by a record-breaking 200-yard medley relay team, the Mission Viejo boys scored 226 points to Capistrano Valley’s 105. Corona del Mar of Newport Beach was third with 85 points.
Capistrano Valley’s girls scored 248 points to Mission Viejo’s 214.
