W. Hanson Jr. Dies; Father of Kodacolor

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Wesley T. Hanson Jr., considered the father of Kodacolor film, died Wednesday. He was 74 and suffered a heart attack while playing tennis Tuesday and died at a hospital near his home in Brighton, said a spokesman for Eastman Kodak Co.
In the 1950s, Hanson was responsible for the technical innovation in color film that led to Kodacolor negatives, which allowed clearer prints with purer colors than had Kodak’s previous color films.
