San Juan Capistrano : One Man Dies, Another Hurt in Crash of Truck

A pickup truck carrying two men plunged off a bridge and into Trabuco Creek late Sunday night, killing the driver and injuring the passenger, the Sheriff’s Department reported Monday.
Aureliano Aguilar Zuniga, 31, of Dana Point was dead at the scene, according to a spokesman for the coroner’s office.
Zuniga’s passenger, Ignacio Mendoza, 19, of San Juan Capistrano, was taken to Mission Community Hospital in Mission Viejo, where he was listed in stable condition with a broken leg and multiple cuts and bruises, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
Zuniga was driving on Del Obispo Street at about 10:35 p.m. when his truck veered off the bridge near Alipaz Street and landed upside down in the creek bed, investigators said.
