Compton : 2 Men Held in Dumping

Two men were being held on $1 million bail after being arrested this week for allegedly attempting to dump 40 barrels of an oil-based chemical at an abandoned auto dealership on East Compton Boulevard. Police said David Kelly, 25, of Compton, and Ronald Scott, 34, of Gardena were seen unloading the 55-gallon drums late Tuesday night. County health officials removed the barrels a short time later, but could not immediately determine where the chemicals came from or if they were toxic.
