SOUND-TRACK FEVER: Summer’s almost here, which means it’s time for noisy summer movies, with (of course) equally raucous sound tracks leading the way. First up: “Dragnet ‘87,” which features a title song by the Art of Noise, as well as (we swear) a new tune called “Just the Facts,” performed by Patti LaBelle and written and produced by hit makers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Other songs on the sound-track album, which is due out this week on MCA Records, include “City of Crime,” a rap tune by the film’s co-stars Dan Aykroyd and Tom Hanks, and “Helplessly in Love” by the New Edition. . . . Meanwhile, the sound-track LP to “Spaceballs,” which is due out at the end of the month on Atlantic Records, features a new title song by the Spinners and a Kim Carnes-Jeffrey Osborne duet (“My Heart Has a Mind of Its Own”), plus previously released material by Van Halen (“Good Enough”), Bon Jovi (“Raise Your Hands”), the Pointer Sisters (“Hot Together”) and Berlin (“Heartstrings”). . . . Ben E. King (who enjoyed a career revival last year, thanks to his song’s appearance in the film “Stand By Me”), isn’t the only soul star benefiting from sound-track exposure. Next up could be Percy Sledge, whose classic “When a Man Loves a Woman” was just a No. 1 hit in England, more than 20 years after its original release. Sledge was in town last week, cutting “Just Can’t Stop,” the closing-title track to “Adventures in Baby Sitting,” a new Disney film whose sound-track album is due out in early July.
