The Los Angeles Philharmonic was among the 153 orchestras and ensembles receiving grants totaling more than $8 million from the National Endowment for the Arts. The Philharmonic received $283,000 from the federal arts funding organization, to help cover the costs of the orchestra’s 26-week winter season, a series of free in-school concerts and a scheduled Tchaikovsky Festival at the Wiltern Theatre.
