The first-ever Clio award for Spanish-language television advertising was won by a New York shop that did all of its filming in Los Angeles Latino neighborhoods. The winning ad, a Pepsi-Cola spot filmed by Moir Productions, is about a drummer in a successful Latino rock band who reminisces.
In the ad, he flashes back to the days when he strutted around various Los Angeles neighborhoods and beat his drumsticks on everything from fence posts to Pepsi machines. “We had our hands full keeping the crowds from gathering during the filming,” said Robert Friedman, executive producer. “The music kept attracting people everywhere we went.”
