A twin-engine airplane on a medical flight crashed into a reservoir near Bridgeport, killing both people on board. The Mono County Sheriff’s Department said a Turbo Commander operated by Care Flight of Reno, an air ambulance service, took off from Reno to pick up a patient in Bridgeport, about 100 miles to the south. Several residents of the town reported hearing what sounded like a plane crash, Sheriff’s Lt. Dave Smith said, and a search began immediately. The wreckage was found submerged in the reservoir just north of town. The victims were identified as the pilot, Delmar Baer Jr., 42, of Carson City, Nev., and a nurse, Linda Montgomery, 38, of Reno.
