Mycogen Corp. began an initial public offering of 1.6 million shares of common stock at $11 per share. The offering is being underwritten by Piper, Jaffray & Hopwood Inc. Proceeds will be used to support commercial product development, manufacturing and marketing and research and development programs. San Diego-based Mycogen develops biological pesticides.
