Albert E. Suter, a vice chairman with Emerson Electric Co., has been elected president and chief operating officer of Firestone Tire & Rubber Co., based in Akron, Ohio. The position is newly created. Chairman and CEO John J. Nevin had as well been serving as president and chief operating officer.
