Goaltender Ron Hextall of the Philadelphia Flyers has been suspended by the National Hockey League for the first eight games of the 1987-88 regular season for a stick-swinging incident involving Edmonton’s Kent Nilsson in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals against the Oilers.
