Dow Earnings a Record

MIDLAND, Mich. — Dow Chemical Co. said today its second-quarter profits rose 40.5% to $312 million from last year’s $222 million in what the No. 2 U.S. chemical company called the best earnings in its 90-year history. A spokesman said the company is on track to reach $1 billion in net income for 1987.
