Superior Industries Sets Records in 6-Month Period

Superior Industries achieved record revenues and earnings for the first six months of this year, with profits up 11.4% over the same period last year. The Van Nuys-based wheel-rim manufacturer reported revenues for the first half of $84,804,000, a 9.8% increase over last year, and net income of $8,168,000, or 86 cents a share.
The increases were attributed mainly to strong demand from General Motors, Chrysler and Ford for the company’s cast-aluminum and custom steel wheels. Louis Borick, chairman and president of Superior, said the company expects a strong finish for 1987 because of demand for 1988 models.
