Computer Sciences’ profit increased 42%to $9.5 million for the first quarter, reflecting strong revenue growth and an improved operating margin. Growth stemmed primarily from contracts with the federal government, the firm’s largest customer, the El Segundo company said. In the latest quarter, federal operations benefited from higher award fees and certain short-term, high-margin projects.
