Pan Am earned $10.5 million in its second quarter, a turnaround from the $152.4-million loss in the year-ago period. The New York-based air carrier attributed the improvement primarily to a 33.6% increase in operating revenue. Pan Am’s systemwide traffic was up 35% for the quarter, with transatlantic traffic showing a 42% increase.
