Wieder Scored on Attitude
Supervisor Harriett Wieder displayed a totally arrogant attitude toward Orange County citizens in a recent public meeting regarding the maximum-security jail site.
As chairman of Drivers for Highway Safety, I attended the meeting, not with concern over where the jail should or should not be located, but over what impact the jail site would have on our already-congested freeway system.
It appeared to me that Supervisor Wieder had her mind already made up as to where the jail should be located, which reminded me of the arrogant attitude she also displayed with members of Drivers for Highway Safety a few months back in the same meeting room over the car-pool lane issue. She showed as little attention to public opinion on the car-pool lane at that time as she now appears to show on this new jail site issue.
