Toddler Who Rides Tricycle in Street Warned by Police

LAKESHIRE, Mo. — A toddler’s penchant for riding his tricycle in the street in front of his suburban St. Louis home has drawn the ire of police, who say he is violating a village ordinance.
Michael Grigaitis, 3, has been warned by Police Chief Gerdi Anderson that his freewheeling days are over, the child’s father, Michael Grigaitis Sr., said Friday.
Anderson cited an ordinance that bars from the roadway anyone on roller skates, coasters, toy vehicles or anything similar, except when using the crosswalk.
“Parents who are responsible should be allowed to let their children play on the street on their tricycles,” the boy’s father said. “We are depriving them of a normal, wholesome life.”
