More Shootings on the Freeways

It’s terrifying to accelerate on the old on-ramp after months of no freeway driving. The rash of shooting deaths and near-deaths creates a new kind of stress. One has a tendency to drive non-parallel to another vehicle day or night.
Yet, in the midst of all this rampant fear comes a new sophistication; one can sense immediately the courtesy of the majority of fellow drivers.
So let the rest of the country, nay, the world, scoff at Southern California. We do know how to conduct ourselves as gentle, civilized people, even under today’s stress.
Thank you, fellow travelers for your consideration in flashing to change lanes, no longer tailgating and respecting within reason the rules of the road.
