Man Dies After Load Falls Off Forklift

A Lemon Grove man was killed Saturday afternoon when a load of roof trusses at a Vista construction site fell from a forklift, authorities said.
Francisco Diaz, 41, was pronounced dead at Palomar Memorial Hospital of severe head injuries about an hour after the 4:15 p.m. accident, deputy coroner Jack Larkie said.
Diaz, a concrete finisher, was working at a site half a mile northwest of Live Oak Road and Melrose Drive in Vista when the load of six trusses on a forklift became unbalanced and overturned, Larkie said.
