Adilson (Maguila) Rodrigues of Brazil won a 10-round split decision over former World Boxing Assn. heavyweight champion James (Bonecrusher) Smith of the United States in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Rodriguez was slightly ahead on the cards of two of the three judges, while Smith won nine rounds on the card of the other judge.
