A Hollywood man pleaded guilty to assault on a police officer and felony drunk driving in connection with an incident in January in which his car smashed into a motorcycle being driven by a Los Angeles police officer. Authorities said Robert Clark, 40, drove through a red light at Temple Street and Virgil Avenue, aimed his car at the officer, and struck the motorcycle on the left side. Officer Vincent Vicarri slid off the cycle and fired his revolver three times, striking the vehicle but not the suspect. Vicarri suffered cuts and bruises but was not hospitalized.
