Canadian sprinters Ben Johnson and Angela Issajenko were impressive winners in the 100 meters, and Edwin Moses cruised to victory in the 400 hurdles at a track meet at Malmo, Sweden.

Johnson, the world’s top-ranked sprinter, won the men’s 100-meter dash in 10.05 seconds. About five minutes later, Issajenko blazed to an 11.17 in the women’s event. Both marks were stadium records and came despite chilly weather with temperatures of about 54 degrees.

In another meet in Grosseto, Italy, world record-holder Pietro Mennea, competing for the first time in nearly three years, won the 200 meters in 21.38.
