Laguna Beach : Shot from Passing Car Shatters Auto Window
- Share via
The passenger window of a car carrying three women was shattered Tuesday morning by a shot from a passing car at a major downtown Laguna Beach intersection, police said.
Officers said the shot appeared to have come from a pellet gun, not a firearm. Although shattered glass filled the car’s interior, no one was injured, they said.
Sgt. Ray Lardie said the women were driving to Laguna Beach for lunch and had gone south on Laguna Canyon Road to Forest Avenue when a dark red or brown compact car passed them on the right side and the shot was fired through the right front passenger window.
Lardie identified the women as Janet Elizabeth Patten, 43, of Cerritos, the driver; Mary Lee White, 39, of Hermosa Beach, the passenger beside the shattered window, and Sheila Whalen, 47, of San Pedro.
Officers said they have no description of the suspect or suspects.
