Aaron Spelling Productions Inc. has agreed to extend its contract with ABC for three more years--but not on an exclusive basis, the network announced Wednesday. The decision ends an exclusive agreement between Spelling and ABC that extended back more than 10 years. “Far from being diminished, we hope the partnership will continue to flourish under our new agreement,” ABC Entertainment President Brandon Stoddard said. Two Spelling productions for ABC, “Hotel” and “Dynasty” have been renewed for fall; two Spelling pilots for the 1987-88 season were rejected by the network.
