Duarte : Trash Pickup Rate Rises

The City Council has granted Best Disposal Co. a 13.6% rate increase retroactive to July 1 to reflect increases in the trash company’s liability and workers’ compensation premiums and landfill rates. The average household, which had been paying $7.14 a month for garbage pickup, is now paying $8.11.
