Military dogs trained to sniff out terrorist bombs scoured an evacuated Stanislaus National Forest campground while authorities awaited a possible call from a mystery bomber. An estimated 1,200 visitors at the 20-acre Pinecrest Campground in the central Sierra Nevada were ordered evacuated after a forest ranger received an anonymous call. The caller said a second man had buried bombs in the campground and would call the campground to say when the bombs would explode. Ranger Gary Cones said the caller offered no motive. Authorities urged campers to leave the 300-unit campground and most moved to nearby campgrounds farther up in the mountains.
