The summer pledge festivals of local PBS stations arrive on a wave of musical nostalgia this weekend, with the sounds of Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller and the music of the World War II era on the lineup.
The schedule includes “Glenn Miller: A Moonlight Serenade” at 6 p.m. and “G.I. Jive: A Salute to the Entertainers of World War II” at 8 p.m., both on Channel 50; and “Sentimental Swing: The Music of Tommy Dorsey” at 8 p.m. on Channel 28. (See TV Tips for other PBS program highlights.)
There’s Hollywood nostalgia involved in “Malice in Wonderland,” the 1985 CBS movie set in the era of film columnists Louella Parsons and Hedda Hopper and starring Elizabeth Taylor and Jane Alexander. CBS repeats the film Sunday at 9 p.m.
