Anti-’Pot’ ‘Copter Crashes

UKIAH, Calif. — A helicopter involved in the state’s anti-marijuana campaign crashed Thursday afternoon in Mendocino County, slightly injuring the pilot, authorities said.
Kati Corsaut, spokeswoman for the state attorney general’s office, said that only the pilot was on board the helicopter when it crashed. She said no one on the ground was injured. Information on the extent of the pilot’s injuries or his identity was not available.
The leased helicopter had just taken off when apparent engine trouble caused it to crash 33 miles northwest of Ukiah, Corsaut said.
