Chicago Ex-Mayor Jane Byrne Seeks Court Job

CHICAGO — Former Mayor Jane M. Byrne has officially declared her candidacy for the Democratic nomination for clerk of the Cook County court system.
Incumbent Clerk Morgan Finley, a Democrat, was indicted on federal charges of accepting $25,000 from an FBI operative. He is awaiting trial, but has said he will be found innocent and seek a fourth term.
