Shuttle to Serve Holiday Shoppers

To encourage shopping in Rolling Hills Estates, the City Council has allocated $10,500 in transportation funds to pay for a holiday shuttle that will run between the Peninsula Center and the Town and Country Center from Nov. 9 through Jan. 10.
The 15-passenger van will link the shopping centers in an 18-minute circuit along Silver Spur Road, Deep Valley Drive and Indian Peak Road, said Douglas R. Pritchard, assistant city manager.
The city will contract with a private transit company to provide the free service, which will be funded with some of the city’s Proposition A transportation funds.
The service was recommended to the council by the Peninsula Center Retail Enhancement Committee, a panel of business, retail and city representatives formed to find ways of enhancing local retail activities, Pritchard said.
