Lane to Stay Closed: The right northbound lane of Western Avenue between 10th and 11th streets will remain closed until Oct. 14, while city crews install curbs, gutters and sidewalks to eliminate the problem of standing water along that stretch of the road. The city has been seeking a solution to the problem for several years, city engineer Loren Tuthill said, but only recently received all the rights-of-way from property owners to begin the work.
