Pope John Paul’s Visit to L.A.

It is fortunate that there has been so much publicity surrounding the Pope’s visit to L.A. Otherwise, I would have been hard-pressed to recognize him when he zoomed by at an unusually rapid rate of speed during his much-publicized downtown parade.
Those of us who traveled distances, who waited patiently and who paid double the downtown parking lot fees were more than a little disappointed at this historical event that we would have missed had we blinked.
