Carl Lewis, who said he slipped coming out of the starting blocks, was beaten by Stanley Floyd in the 100 meters during an international track and field meet in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Floyd’s time was 10.44, Lewis’ 10.47.
Evelyn Ashford won the women’s 100 in 11.45.
