Media Praise

It’s time to praise the media for a change. Many thanks to those journalists, most notably at the Los Angeles Times and KTLA television, who brought us such comprehensive coverage of the Pope’s visit. Much was said about John Paul II being a media star, but it is easy for the public to take working journalists for granted.
Kudos also to Marjorie Miller, one of your Central American staff writers, who has risked her life to report from the Honduran border area. Her analysis (“Dilemma for Honduras,” Part I, Sept. 17) is an outstanding piece of foreign correspondence that covers every facet of the tricky situation.
