A Folsom Prison correctional officer shot an inmate to break up a fight in an exercise yard, a prison spokesman said. Derek Blagg, 29, who is serving a 22-year term for a San Diego robbery, was treated for a bullet wound in the thigh after he fought with Tyrone Miller, 28, who is serving a 13-year term for a voluntary manslaughter conviction in Los Angeles. Folsom officials said there was no evidence of any connection between the fight and an earlier disturbance Friday in which nine inmates were injured after guards used automatic weapons to break up a gang fight in a different exercise yard.
