South Korea’s merchandise exports reached $4.584 billion during September, the highest monthly total in the nation’s history, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said. Exports through September totaled $33.313 billion, a 34.8% increase over the first nine months of 1986, officials said. Imports during September amounted to $3.561 billion, making the January-September total $29.254 billion, an increase of 26.4% over the corresponding period in 1986, the officials said.
