“Magical Mystery Tour.” The Beatles. Capitol. The first album in the Beatles CD series to be issued in the original American rather than British packaging, 1967’s “Mystery Tour” is a virtual greatest-hits collection. Five of the 11 songs were Top-40 singles (including “Penny Lane” and “Strawberry Fields Forever”), while three others (including “I Am the Walrus” and “The Fool on the Hill”) were among the most popular FM radio tracks of the ‘60s. The only question, as the series nears its end, is whether to invest in this CD or wait until the actual “greatest” hits packages (possibly the irresistible double-album “1962-1966” and “1967-1970” sets) are added to the series.
