Anchorage Voters Want King Center Renamed

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — By an overwhelming majority, voters in Alaska’s largest city have decided to change the name of the new Martin Luther King Jr. Performing Arts Center.
With most of the votes tallied early today, about three-fourths of the voters said they do not want the centerpiece of downtown Anchorage named after the slain civil rights leader.
