Schoenberger Hired as Scout by Cleveland

Al Schoenberger, who won more than 200 games as baseball coach at Cal Lutheran, was hired as a full-time scout Thursday by the Cleveland Indians.
Schoenberger, who will be responsible for the Southern California area along with Dale Sutherland, coached the Kingsmen from 1980-87 and served as an assistant to Ron Stillwell for six years prior to becoming coach.
Cal Lutheran had a record of 202-176 under Schoenberger and qualified for the NAIA playoffs seven times.
Schoenberger was a part-time scout for the Philadelphia Phillies this season.
