Putting Scores Victory in Oak Tree Feature

Putting, ridden by Gary Stevens, won the $36,000 feature race by 1 1/2 lengths over Dark Promise, with Fernando Toro aboard, Friday at Santa Anita’s Oak Tree meeting.

Putting, a French-bred, 4-year-old gelding, covered a mile on the turf in 1:36 3/5 and paid $6.80, $3.60 and $3. Dark Promise returned $7 and $4, while Midnight Ice paid $4 to show.
