Teachers Investment Firm Buys Seattle Building

Teachers Management & Investment Corp. in Newport Beach has bought a 48,000-square-foot office building in Seattle for about $4 million. The acquisition represents the first real estate venture in Washington by TMI, a 20-year-old investment company primarily for California teachers. TMI said its current investment portfolio totals $700 million, which it manages for 50,000 investors.
