Shirley MacLaine and the New Age

I wouldn’t give MacLaine too much credit for the popularity of the New Age junk mysticism--it’s concomitant with the times. People are highly insecure, seizing on any offered pseudo-solution, no matter how dumb, to reassure themselves that things will work out in the end.
