Doctors say Neil Bonnett should sit out the rest of the NASCAR Winston Cup season while he recovers from a broken right leg, but a member of the driver’s team isn’t convinced he’ll stay out.
“The doctors said he’d be out for the rest of the season, but Neil is so hard-headed he might try to drive again this season,” Rahmoc racing team manager Dick Seidenspinner said. “I wouldn’t put it past him.”
The 41-year-old Bonnett, from Bessemer, Ala., suffered the injury Sunday during the Oakwood Homes 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina.
