Orange : Population Puts City in Over-100,000 Club
- Share via
The City of Orange has joined the list of American cities with a population of at least 100,000, the Census Bureau said Thursday. The list now totals 182.
Orange made the list by recording a jump in population in 1986 to 100,740, from 96,952 in 1984, the bureau estimated. Already on the list were Anaheim, with a population of 240,730, up from 233,516; Santa Ana, 236,780, up from 225,405; Huntington Beach, 183,620, up from 179,335; and Garden Grove, 134,850, up from 130,836.
The estimates are prepared every two years. The figures cover just the cities themselves, not their metropolitan areas.
