Mark Breland, an Olympic gold medalist, who lost a piece of the world welterweight title in his last fight, will launch a comeback Dec. 5 at Caesars Atlantic City.
Breland will fight Javier Suazo (17-3-1) of Mexico in a preliminary bout to Evander Holyfield’s scheduled 15-round defense of the World Boxing Assn. and International Boxing Federation junior-heavyweight titles against Dwight Muhammad Qawi.
Breland, who had a 110-1 record as an amateur and had been 18-0 as a pro, lost the WBA welterweight title in his first defense when he was knocked out in the 11th round by Marlon Starling Aug. 22 at Columbia, S.C.
